The School of Public Administration currently offers three primary disciplines: Public Administration, Sociology, and Political Science. It has one provincial key discipline—Public Administration, and one provincial key research base in humanities and social sciences—the Center for Population, Society, and Legal Studies. Additionally, it co-establishes the "Research Center for Theoretical Studies of the People's Political Consultative Conference" with the Guizhou Provincial Political Consultative Conference, the "Guizhou Province Volunteer Service Cultural Research Center" with the Publicity Department of the Guizhou Provincial Party Committee, and the "Guizhou University Center for Government Affairs Research" with the General Office of the Guizhou Provincial Government.
